How to access

The bureau operates a drop in generalist advice service on just about any subject. There are however, key areas that often require more in depth and specialist help, particularly as there are no solicitors in Rutland offering Legally Funded advice or who specialise in these areas of law. To meet this need Rutland CAB has developed a specialist unit to cover:

Money Advice (Debt),
Welfare Rights (Benefits),
Employment,
Housing,
Housing Options for People with Learning Disabilities,
Parent Partnership (Special Educational Needs)

If you have a problem in any of these areas you should initially see a generalist adviser. If the adviser identifies that you require specialist help then an appointment will be made for you.

The last two categories are often referrals made directly to us by Rutland County Council.
